The purpose of this study is to suggest a third-party logistics growth strategy for the facilitation of electronic commerce on the basis of the understanding of case analysis. In particular. this study proposes three growth strategies: introduction strategy, operational strategy and diffusion strategy, for the logistics industry to gain an international competitive edge with globalization tendencies. as follows. First. in the introduction strategy, the precondition to cultivate third-party logistics is suggested in terms of a necessity to increase the size of the third-party logistics industry and the domestic logistics industry. Second. the operational strategy of third-party logistics is divided into substantial strategy. business structure strategy and competitive strategy. An appropriate operational strategy makes it possible for domestic special logistic companies to effectively meet confrontation with international large logistics companies through substantiality. business structure reorganization and service differentiation. Third. even though the recognition of domestic third-party logistics has been extended. as compared to advanced countries. it is unsatisfactory in various aspects. Therefore. as a plan for the diffusion of domestic third-party logistics, diffusion strategies are suggested such as the strategic support of the specified logistics company, third-party logistics facilitation through e-SCM activation and the reference model development. The third-party logistics growth strategies proposed in this study for the activation of electronic commerce are one of the research issues expected to be a starting point for further research concerning both electronic commerce and logistics.
