The purpose of this study was to reveal the relationship between the participation of intramural sport activities and interpersonal relationship for children in the elementary school. The subject(347 boys and 291 girls) participated in this study were selected by stratified cluster random sampling in Seoul elementary schools(4 schools) and their ages ranged from 10(4th grade) to 12(6th grade). For the statistical treatment of collected data Frequencies, ANCOV A and Multiple Classification Analysis were used.
The results obtained were as follows.
1. It is greater non-participants than children of participation in intramural sport activities.
The most popular place for participating is programs of elementary schools. Children tended to participate individual sports/personal sports than team sports or recreation activities. And children tended to view team sports.
The most popular period for participating is 1-2years, and the highest popular frequency of participation is 4-5times per a week. And the most popular intensity for participation is 30minutes-an hour per a trial.
2. There was a partial difference according to population-statistic character in interpersonal relationship.
3. It is higher children of participation than non-participants the relationship with other adults in intramural sport activities.
