I summarize this paper as follows. Firstly, after defining the characteristics of the characteristics of the normative grammar and school grammar, I examined preceding studies on whether the standard Korean grammar for foreign people is identical with or similar to the school grammar for native speakers or not. About the ideal feature of the standard Korean grammar, I deferred conclusion because we don't know the pragmatic value of the some suggested standard grammars yet. Secondly, I examined preceding studies on the pedagogical grammar for reference and the teaching grammar for education and mentioned the necessity to establish the concept of the grammar for learning with which the learners can study for themselves. Thirdly, after explaining the basic concept of the paradigmatic relation-centered grammar and the syntagmatic relation-centered grammar, I pointed the fact that while the both is realized as 'grammar and expression' in most Korean textbooks, the syntagmatic relation-centered grammar is not referred in the standard grammar books. Fourthly, I referred the necessity to make Korean standard grammar's position about dissociation between norms and realities clearly. Fifthly, after showing a few grammatical data which are not explained easily in even theoretical grammar, not to mention standard grammar, I examplified how to illustrate the verbal endings ‘-ne(네)’, ‘-gun(군)’, ‘-guna(구나)’ of modality in the standard grammar.
