This study sought to develop a curriculum for women leadership development of theological seminary. Recently, the number of women students of M. Div. program is increasing. There is more possibility that women can play leadership roles in ihe church and Umstian organizatioit However, ttie research shows that the seminary education does not prepare women students to meet leadership challenges.
Literature review consistently suggests that barriers of women leadership are sex discrimination, lack of mentors and networking. Based on research, a curriculum to develop women leadership was suggested. There are three areas for leadership development: identity formation of women leaders, empowerment of women leaders, and support systems. For identity formation of women leaders, calling, spiritual leadership, women and Bible, and women leadership should be taught. For empowerment of women leaders, communication skills, conflict management, and self management can be helpful. For support systems, mentoring, networking, and field experience have to be provided. Women leadership style is similar to transformation leadership style which is more democratic, encouraging and productive. In this information technology era, the women leadership may be more effective.
