As the hospital environment has been increasingly changed into IT environment, the application services for the hospital environment are also faced with new requirements. Hospital managements are faced with severe competition and need more complicated management information systems for its efficiency than before. Hospital managers have to deal with these environments and provide patients with better services than ever to survive. In this paper, we propose an ASP based management information service environment for smaller (dental) hospitals and clinics. ASP based model brings various benefits to smaller hospitals and clinics such as decreasing the total cost, using new IT technology, enhancing the maintenance, and implementing the information systems rapidly. Based on the field interview result, this study performed system analysis and design of the management information service system for a dental hospital. This paper also shows a prototype of the management information service system for the dental hospital.
