The purpose of this study was to examine consciousness on marine leisure sports of Jeju population and to explore determinants effectively predicated between marine sports participants and non participants. The 640 respondents were selected using multistage cluster random sampling procedure. The data were gathered using structured surveys where trained interviewers conducted an interview with a randomly selected adults in Jeju province. Respondents were required to answer for a series of structured questionnaires on demographic variables, actual state for participation, leisure time and activity factors, general consciousness on marine leisure sports, activation and tourism development factors. Based on descriptive statistics and inferential statistics results of a series of logistic regression analyses, the following conclusions were produced. First, the actual state on marine sports participation of Jeju province population was low and consciousness levels on marine sports were very high but satisfaction level of propaganda for population was very low. Second, the demographic variable significantly predicted between marine sports participants and non participants was gender. Third, the leisure time and activity variable effectively predicted between marine sports participants and non participants was weekend leisure activity. Fourth, the general consciousness of marine sport and constraints variables effectively predicted between marine sports participants and non participants were lack of time, burden of equipment and cost, support of marine sport education center construction, and satisfaction of marine sport propaganda. Fifth, activation and tourism effect variables significantly predicted between marine sports participants and non participants were establishment of marine sports infrastructure, marine related law correction, increase of employment of residents, increase of conflict between development subject and residents, and increase of marine pollution. Finally, the most effective model predicted between marine sports participants and non participants was combined model and the most important predictor variable was equipment/cost constraint.
