The aim of this study was intended to analyze the correlation between Body Composition Characteristics and physical performance in boys and girls aged 9-15 years. Subjects of this study consisted of a total of 1,200 boys and girls students in elementary and middle school in Kyungki-do. The Body Composition Characteristics such as percent body fat, fat mass, fat-free mass, basal metabolic rate, total body weight were measured with Bioelectric Impedance Analysis(BIA-310 model). The Physical Performance was evaluated by flamingo balance, plate tapping, sit and reach, standing broad jump, grip strength, sit-ups, 50m shuttle run, bent arm hang, endurance run The statistical package, SAS was used for data analysis and calculation of average and standard deviation. Student`s t-test was used for comparison between physical characteristics due to age variation and Physical performance. One-way ANOVA was used for verification of significance of age variable. The significance of all statistical variable was set to p<0.05. The result of analysis of the correlation between characteristics due to age variation and Physical Performance is as follow physical 1. For between body mass index and percent body fat and the variable of Flamingo balance, a high significance(r=0.32~0.65) was shown in every age group but as age increases, a significance decreases. 2. For between waist/hip ratio, waist/thigh ration and Physical Performance, there is no significance except for Flamingo balance. 3. For between percent body fat, fat mass, and sit-ups, all age groups show the high negative significance(r=-0.30~-0.62) except for 13 years group, but in case of between Flamingo balance and going and returning, 9 years group to 12 years group show the high positive significance. 4. 11 years group to 13 years group for between fat-free mass and standing broad jump variable and all age group for grip strength variable show a high positive significance.
