This purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobics training on abdominal and femoral fat. Subjects were composed of fourteen obese middle-school students women. Aerobics training was performed 40 minutes per day , 4 days per week at 56.4±3.21% of HRmax during 1~10weeks and at 65.3±2.12% of HRmax during 11~20weeks. The items for abdominal fat volume were measured subcutaneous fat volume(SFV), visceral fat volume(VFV), VFV/SFV and femoral fat by CT(computed tomography). Paired t-test was used to evaluate the difference of pre and post 20 weeks aerobics training. The 0.05 level of significance was as critical level for the study. The results of this study are as follow; 1. Body Height was significantly(p<.05) increased an %fat and MVO_2 were significantly(p<.05) decreased in aerobic training group. 2. VO_2max(㎖/min) and VO_2max(㎖/kg/min)were significantly(p>.01incr aerobics training group. 3. SFV, VFV and VFV/SFV were significantly(p<.05, p<.01, p<.05) decreased in aerobics training group. 4. Femoral fat was significantly(p<.05) decreased in aerobics training group. In conclusion, abdominal and femoral fat were decreased in aerobics training. So it is could be thought that long-term aerobics training improve body composition for obesity treatment.
