The purpose of this study was to examine the effect in behavior of self-management and sports-confidence of adolescent baseball players according to images of sports stars in professional baseball. In order to ac - complish this purpose, middle and high school baseball players registered with Korea Baseball Association were selected as population. The whole country was divided into 5 areas (Seoul area, Gyeonggi-Gangwon area, Chungcheong area, Jeolla area, Gyeongnam-Busan area), and 90 adolescent baseball players were selected from each area using quota sample method to add up to 450 players. And the respondents were a total of 438 players excluding 12 with incomplete questionnaires or who answered insincerely. As for the research tool, the questionnaire used in a previous research was modified and complemented for the current survey. PASW Ver. 18.0 was used to carry out multiple regression analys is to have results as follows: First, images of sports stars in professional baseball affected the behavior of self-management of adolescent baseball players. To look more closely, the superior image and the outward image of sports stars had significant influence on all the sub-factors of self-management behavior-management of mental strength, management of intrinsic behavior and training, management of one`s life. And the moral image of sports stars had significant influence on the sub-factors of self-management behavior of management of intrinsic behavior and training as well as management of one`s life. Second, the images of sports stars in professional baseball among adolescent baseball players affected the sports-confidence. Specifically, the superior image of sports stars had significant influence on all the sub-factors of sports-confidence-demonstration of social ability, physical/emotional preparation, leadership of coach. And the outward image of sports stars had significant influence on the sub-factor of sports-confidence of physical/mental preparation.
