This article is a subsequent one to my previous articles, “A Pastoral Counseling Commentary on Proverbs 1-2” and “A Pastoral Counseling Commentary on Proverbs 3-4.” Another article on Proverbs 5-7 will be published sooner or later.
I attempted to comment on Proverbs 8-10 from my subjective perspective as a pastoral counselor and supervisor as well as with the help of other commentators, such as Yunsun Park, Jungwoo Kim, and Charles Bridges. A few issues relevant with pastoral counseling and pastoral supervision were associated with some verses: counselor"s qualities, personality disorders, especially narcissistic personality disorder, confrontation, power of healing words, verbal abuse, importance of feedback in supervision, talking cure, and speaking bi-lingually, i.e., speaking theological language and psychological language.
