The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of acute exercise on circulator factors(blood pressure, heart rate), lactate concentration with different time of day. Twelve young subjects participated in this study and measured heart rate, blood pressure, and blood lactate concentration at 07:00 hours and 18:00 hours during rest and immediately after exercise. The exercise test was scheduled to start 07:00 hours after scheduled awakening, consisting of 10 min warming-up and 30 min treadmill running at 75% maximum heart rate. At rest, systolic and diastolic blood pressure had no significant circadian variation. Exercise increased systolic and diastolic blood pressure but without significant circadian variation in reactivity to exercise. At rest, heart rate had significant circadian variation. Baseline heart rate was significantly higher in the morning than afternoon. There was a significant increase in heart rate with exercise, but there was no significant circadian rhythm in heart rate reactivity to exercise. At rest, lactate concentration was no significantly lower in the afternoon than morning. There was a significant increase in lactate concentration with exercise. Although lactate concentration immediately after exercise was higher in the morning than afternoon, there was no significant difference. We conclude that there are no diurnal changes of blood pressure and heart rate, and lactate concentration with submaximal exercise except rest heart rate. Further research are necessary to investigate whether an circadian rhythm with exercise could effects with different exercise intensity, and other parameters such as vascular regulatory factors, and arterial stiffness.
