A dynamic FE equation for Timoshenko beam subjected to support motions is formulated by employing quasi-static decomposition method. Using 3-noded isoparametric Timoshenko beam element, the dynamic FE analysis of Timoshenko beam is carried out. Numerical tests for the fixed-hinged beam show that the solutions agree with those obtained by large mass method.
