This paper reconceptualizes grammar knowledge, making it more applicable to grammar education for the improvement of communication ability among Korean learners. The paper examines various types of grammar knowledge and identifies the ways in which it can be represented. In addition, the paper investigates how one type of grammar knowledge can be transferred to another. The results indicate that grammar knowledge does not exist objectively outside but is constructed by learners according to the constructivist perspective. Thus, the paper distinguishes grammar information from grammar knowledge. Further, the paper extends the denotation of grammar knowledge as educational content from procedural/implicit knowledge to declarative/explicit knowledge; two knowledges interact with each other. Based on this concept of grammar knowledge, the paper discusses the process of grammar knowledge. For this, the paper discusses the process of grammar knowledge formation by considering a series of steps from the input to the output and presents some issues associated with `comprehending`, `structuring` and `internalizing`.
