Iran had maintained close relationship with South Korea until the Islamic revolution in 1979, and in spite of the embargo in the West, it has increased the favor of South Korea because of the famous soap opera like ‘Daejanggeum’ and ‘Jumong’ which broadcasted on Iranian national broadcast from 2006 to 2007. Iran has many people travel abroad of any Muslim countries (including the Middle East), and it has high potential for international travel. For these reasons, the government reported that Iran is a key target market for tourism, and it set up Korean National Tourism Organization office in Teheran to attract tourists aggressively. Nevertheless, the study of the tourism market situation in Iran is nonexistent. Therefore, the study discuss how to handle the Iran tourists in order to activate tourism, and also give advices for understanding of the tourism market in Iran. In order to achieve the goal of this study, the study conducted a survey of Iran travel industry professionals, and analysed major factors of visiting Korea, the importance of religious facilities, and the preferences of religious activities and attitudes using t-test and one-way ANOVA. As a result, the respondents residing in Teheran recognized the quality of wonderful beach and water sports infrastructure is important, however, the respondents residing in Isfahan tend to hygienic cleanliness is important. Also, woman prefer the natural sights and charming local cuisine than man, and unmarried respondents thought that good value compared to the price and nightlife entertainment is important. This study provides precious data for understanding Iran tourism market, and it will make a good use as base line data.
