Despite the fact that the development of the curriculum is a decision-making process that takes place within a specific context, the history education circle has been stingy with the researches on the process of the development of the curriculum and with the researches on what discussions took place within the process. Hence, by interviewing the research teams who had participated in the course of study of ‘East Asian History’, which was revised in the year 2015 and by making the details and the experiences that took place during the process of the development into ‘the systematic and official records’, this research intends to present them as the research records for the research and development teams who will participate in the development of the next course of study.
I believe that, although it is difficult to answer regarding whether or not a subject that is an alternative regarding the many kinds of the reasons behind the appearance of ‘East Asian History’ is possible, I believe that it is not impossible. Except, in order for this to be so, there must be the meticulous researches and analyses from the process of the development of the course of study. And the materialization of the discussions related to this is needed.
