The goal of this study is to propose a new approach to analyze the floor plan of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece with geometric method, also to interpret the symbolism of the plan. There are lack of studies about the column space and layout, the underlying principle and idea to design the floor plan. Here is the result of the analysis. 1. The column space at the center of the front line is wider than the side. I have found out that the column layout is geometrically designed by "Constellation-column" method, which is newly proposed by this research. The method is to project the stars placed at regular interval on the circle into a line of rectangle. 2. The three rectangles forming the floor plan of the Parthenon are made following one of Pythagorean Triple, 5:12:13. 3. The floor plan of Parthenon symbolizes a ship making a voyage toward East, the rising sun. Based on the analysis aforementioned, I have concluded that the floor plan of the Parthenon is composed of a geometrical shape and the temple symbolizes a ship.
