This study analyzed the stages of change in women’s scalp and hair care behavior based on a transtheoretical model. For this, such changes with influence on hair care to allow individuals to keep engaging in hair care behavior were investigated and the differences and effects examined. The results found the following: First, both density and sensitivity in the characteristics of scalp and hair health according to the two groups differed by point in time. Second, in terms of hair thickness by scalp and hair care, no difference was found between the two groups. Between timing and group, a statistical significance was observed. Third, no statistically significant difference was detected between the groups before and during application of the stages of change. After application, however, statistical significance was found. Fourth, in terms of decision balance in scalp and hair care habits after the application of change stages, no statistically significant difference was found after the application of change stages in the experimental group. In decision balance after the application of change stages in the control group, on the contrary, a significant difference was detected in positive differences. Fifth, in terms of self-efficacy of hair care habits after the application of change stages, no statistically significant difference was observed. Sixth, regarding changes in scalp and hair care behavior after the application of change stages, no significant difference was found in all sub-factors in the experimental group. There was a definite change in scalp care in the experimental group. With the change in scalp and hair environments in the experimental group, the effects of simple scalp massage and scaling were confirmed.
