The purpose of this study was to provide basic data by conducting a survey on nutritional status of adolescent baseball players to develop personalized sports nutrition program. To achieve this purpose, the questionnaire survey was conducted to 548 male adolescent baseball players (66 players and 482 player’s parents responded the survey). The questionnaire included nutrient intake before, during, and after training. In addition, we investigated current status of physical fitness and physique (height and weight) management and nutrition education for the players. The primary findings are summarized as follows. Firstly, the highest proportion was found in ‘I do not intake any supplements except water’ before training (45.3%) and during training (67.2%). In this regard, it seems that nutrition education on carbohydrate intake before and during training is required. Secondly, many players answered ‘meals (33.7%)’, ‘milk and snack (17.9%)’, and ‘no supplements except water (14.7%)’ about nutritional supplementation immediately after training. In this regard, it seems that nutrition education for appropriate supplement strategy by training schedule is required. Thirdly, it is necessary to verify the efficacy and doping-related safety of herbal medicines taken for the purpose of physique and fitness management. Lastly, we found sufficient desire for systematic nutrition education program from adolescent baseball players and their parents. We expect our research to offer relevant information for developing personalized sports nutrition program in baseball.
