Reliability engineering can be applied to a variety of complex system failures such as materials, components or automobiles, ships, building structures, software, etc. It can be applying in any stage of asset life-cycle for analysis, evaluation, and implementation of remedial actions. Recently, the Korean economy has reached an era in which asset management and maintenance of existing assets are more important than the design and construction of new assets. Accordingly, it is very important to accumulate, educate, and spread the engineering awareness, knowledge, and experience of effectively managing and managing physical assets effectively and efficiently. Reliability engineering is the core technology for successful asset management. This section introduces the reliability techniques commonly used in asset management. In the industrial field, the methods for the proper application and diffusion of reliability techniques in the operation and maintenance management sectors are considered and presented.
