In an era focused on an individual’s true and unique personality, men’s hairstyles account for a great portion in expressing their own style. Recently, in Korean men’s hairstyles, new styles that differ from previous ones have been in vogue in combination with a slim and neat costume under the cultural influence of mass media and because of technical changes and development in art and cosmetology. Therefore, this study proposes diverse, two-block styling methods for two-block hairstyles that have been popular among men, using iron perm. For two-block hairstyling, this study investigated an iron rod array and analyzed iron rod numbers, base, base size and number of winds to propose a styling method. The results found the following: First, a natural two-block dandy and two-block pomade styles were created. Second, it was able to disguise non-standard head shapes. Third, it was possible to realize a typical two-block pomade style with the bangs combed to the back in a more systematic fashion. In addition, this study specified hair length, treatment angle and size of a winding iron by head shape and made a contribution to the establishment of a theoretical ground for such systematic treatment. It is anticipated that the study results would help hairdressers build their competency and improve hairdressing skills and eventually increase customer satisfaction.
