This paper makes a detailed analyses of the common type and rhetorical function of the elliptical sentences，inverted sentences, condensed sentences of essay lines and draws the following conclusions： a. There are two types of elliptical sentences in the lines of sketch: the conventional elliptical sentences and unconventional elliptical sentences. The former can be explained by existing standards, including Dialogue Omission, Chengqian Omission, Monghou Omission and Self Stated Omission. The latter is a special elliptical sentences in the lines of sketches, including Elision Omission and Suggestive Omission which cannot be explained by existing standards. b. There are three types of inverted sentences in the lines of sketch: the sentences with the predicate moved forward, the sentences with the object moved forward and the sentences with adverbial backward. Each type has its own characteristics. c. The most frequently used condensed sentences in the lines of sketch are those expressing hypothetical and conditional relationships, and the second is the condensed sentences indicating concession and causality. The use frequency of condensed sentences indicating other relationships is significantly lower than the above four. The subjects of the two clauses can be the same or different, and they can appear together or only one or none. Spoken words and short structures are widely used in condensed sentences for easy understanding. d. The elliptical sentences，inverted sentences, condensed sentences of essay lines have three special expressive functions: highlight and emphasize the main information, enhance the vividness of language expression and create a humorous effect. They can be used skillfully to express the theme ideas more accurately and vividly show the character's personality and plot.
