Purpose : When we infected by corona virus, there has several symptoms, such as fever, lower respiratory tract pain, and pneumonia. Measuring body temperature is a simple method to select patients, and non-contact thermometers are widely used during body temperature measurement. Infected patients are selected based on the temperature below 37.5 ℃, which is the normal temperature range. However, changes in the surrounding environment cause errors in infrared measurement. In order to control the this error, the non-contact thermometer sets a correction value, but it is difficult to correct it for all environments. Therefore, we investigate device error values ??according to changes in the surrounding environment (temperature and humidity) and propose guidelines for stable patient selection. Methods : For this study, the temperature was measured using three types of non-contact thermometers. For accurate temperature measurement, we used a constant temperature water bath. When temperature measuring, we checked whether the temperature and humidity were maintained using a thermo-hygrometer. The surrounding environment was changed by an air conditioner, humidifier, warmer and dehumidifier. Results : we measured temperature to various distance. According to the guidelines, the non-contact thermometers use 2 to 3 cm distance. We measured a mercury thermometer, and then non-contact thermometers measured at 3 cm, 5 cm, 7 cm, and 10 cm. At a normal surrounding temperature of 24 ℃, there was no difference at 3 cm, but at a distance greater than that, the temperature lower. Next, we measured another surrounding temperature (above 0 or 40 ℃), the temperature was significantly different from 3 cm. In addition, in the humidity change, the higher the humidity, the less the effect on temperature, and it was found that more temperature errors occur in a dry environment with low humidity. Conclusion : In conclusion, it seems that more temperature error occurs in dry weather in winter, if it check the body temperature above 35.5 ℃ in winter, it will be necessary to confirm in the circulatory screening process.
