The purpose of this study is to identify trends in how research related to performing arts has been conducted according to the trend of the times since the outbreak of COVID-19. The subject of analysis was to identify the key contents of the research in the performance art field using text mining, which contains a total of 1,206 research titles and key word published in Korea from 2018 to 2022. In addition, we analyzed the overall performance art field and six genres: dance, musical, theater, music, and traditional art. As a result of the study, the performing arts community continued to study COVID-19-related issues starting in 2020, and it showed an increase in earnest in 2021. As a result of keyword analysis, COVID-19, times, new normal, post, untact, and non-face-to-face keywords were derived, and keywords such as online, metaverse, virtual reality, dance film, VR, digital, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality were identified. In conclusion, research on performing arts after COVID-19 varies from genre to genre, but overall, since the outbreak of COVID-19, it has been steadily preparing various perspectives and new ways to respond to quantitative growth and crisis situations. Researchers in each genre should expand their attempts to expand the direction of research in various ways for balanced development of learning in the field of performing arts. In the future, we hope that researchers in the field of performing arts will be used as basic data to explore the direction of research.
