Objective: This study will examine the relationship with various local factors that affect compliance with a PMTC-centered preventive care program through a 3-year retrospective study, in order to help improve patient's compliance with oral care management. Methods: From December 2018 to November 2021, 69 patients who received at least one oral care with a PMTC-centered preventive care program after implant placements at selected dental clinics (Busan Metropolitan City) were studied. Results: First, the three-year retention rate for preventive care programs was 31.9% and the cumulative retention rate was 23.1%. The proportion of patients who discontinued the program for one year was 58.4%, and among them, 50.7% discontinued the management within three months. Second, 57.1% of the fully compliant group had 7 or more implants and 51.4% were smokers, and the impact of compliance was statistically significant (p＜0.05). Third, in terms of implant placement location, the fully compliant group showed the highest compliance in the maxillary anterior and maxillary posterior teeth (p＜0.05). Fourth, the subjects showed higher compliance with duration of care and number of implants placed, but lower compliance with smoking (p＜0.01). Conclusion: Various factors associated with compliance with the preventive care program were validated as factors that affect compliance, including the number and location of implants, smoking, and duration of menagement.
