Most of the domestic studies and discussions on Mikhail Park have centered on issues of subjectivity, diaspora, language, and the identity of the protagonist as a ethnic Korean writer. In Mikhail Park"s works, we find a unique and special literary environment related to the Koryo-saram protagonist and the history of the Koryo-saram in Russia and Central Asia, but at the same time, the reality of the former Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia and Central Asia and the universality and individuality of the author are secured, independent of region, ethnicity, and time.
This paper comprehensively examines the spatial and temporal analysis of the works in Night is the Sun, the identity of the protagonist, and the ideas and beliefs about art that the author wants to show through such a protagonist.
Mikhail Park is a author who consistently features Korean protagonists in his work, demonstrating an awareness of Korean history and roots. One of the things that must be considered with him is that he is a Russian artist who grew up and works in the former Soviet Union and Russia, so there is a need to expand the acceptance of his work and his world from Korean to global.
