The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 3.2 million people will die from indoor air pollution and 3.5 million people will die from outdoor air pollution in 2020. Indoor air quality management is a situation that must be treated with great importance. Now, in order to sustain a healthy human life, we must go beyond eco-friendly architecture and consider the healthy environment where space users live, reside, and engage in activities. This presents a new paradigm for building a healthy environment through the convergence of public health, architecture, and management, which has recently been mentioned in terms of convergence thinking. This study aims to understand the recently announced harmfulness of building materials and eco-friendly materials and develop a STEAM education program on the impact of these materials on indoor air quality such as ultrafine dust and formaldehyde. We would like to present this as a experimental education program on indoor air quality. In connection with the actual elementary school curriculum, a building material exploration program was developed for a healthy environment using a model that combines public health, management, and architectural design.
