The elderly population is increasing rapidly, and the life expectancy is gradually increasing. Due to aging, various physiological changes such as the myocardial system, nervous system, endocrine, and cardiovascular disease occur, leading to diseases and making daily life difficult. Parkinson’s and dementia are classified as neurological diseases, but they are accompanied by a decrease in muscle mass, a decrease in physical activity, and a decrease in cognitive function, and can be seen as representative diseases that reduce the quality of life. Oral health is an important factor in maintaining the quality and health of the elderly, and for elderly patients who have difficulty living their daily lives without surrounding care such as Parkinson’s and dementia, the role of dentists is important to lead oral health. In this paper, we will examine Parkinson’s and dementia, which are representative senile diseases, and examine dental treatment through literature.
