The purpose of this study is to examine the crime prevention building code standards from a critical point of view. This is because the application of CPTED in buildings is very important. The results of the study are as follows.; First, it is necessary to modify the definition and concept of terms and the content of the main standards. Second, it is necessary to modify and add standards that reflect the characteristics of crime and buildings by use. Third, it is necessary to distinguish between planning standards and installation standards according to the application target and nature of the standards. Finally, a commentary is needed for standards. It is thought that this direction of improvement will help architectural practitioners understand and apply CPTED.
