비만은 체내에 지방이 과다하게 축적되는 상태로, 세계보건기구(WHO)는 청소년 비만을 질병으로 분류하고 있다. 밤늦게 먹는 야식과, 낮은 수면의 질은 청소년 비만에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구는 청소년의 야식섭취 및 수면의 질이 비만에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 청소년들의 비만예방을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 수행되었다.
부산지역 일개 남녀공학 중학교 중학생 220명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용한 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 청소년의 야식섭취 및 수면의 질이 비만에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, SPSS 27.0을 활용하였다.
연구결과, 주 3회 이상의 군것질류 야식섭취, 주관적 수면의 질이 낮은 것이 비만에 영향을 미쳤다. 성별로 나누었을 때는 남학생은 주 3회이상의 군것질류 야식섭취, 낮은 수면 효율성이 남학생의 비만에 영향을 미쳤다. 여학생은 주3회 이상의 식사류 야식섭취, 낮은 주관적 수면의 질이 여학생의 비만에 영향을 미쳤다.
청소년의 비만예방을 위해서는 라면, 패스트푸드, 과자, 음료 등의 야식섭취빈도를 줄이고, 청소년의 낮은 수면 효율성과 낮은 주관적 수면의 질을 해결할 수 있는 현실적이고 효과적인 보건교육 및 홍보, 가정 및 지역사회 환경개선이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.
