The purpose of this study was to survey food service management practices and in order to provide basic information and efficiency model. The analysis materials are self-completed questionnaires of 71 child care centers in Bucheon, Kyunggi Province.
The followings are about the results of this study.
There is a quite great gap in the total number of the children between public child-care centers and private child-care centers.
On the average cost of lunch and interim snack between public child-care centers and private one there were not much differences however, the home day-care centers had higher cost than the former.
The meal mostly was prepared by a cook, but most home day-care centers was prepared by directors.
The first difficulties of meal management were not enough space to cook in public child-care centers and big private one, small private and home day-care centers were about budget.
The menus were monthly planned by the directors in public child-care centers, while they was weekly planned in private child-care centers and home day-care centers. All of child-care centers in Bucheon have no dietitian.
The three types of child-care centers all considered the balanced nutrition and food preference of the children the most. They mostly referred to the menus offered by Bucheon Educare Information Center. In conclusion, the role of Educare Information Center in food service management is very crucial
