This thesis is intended to go over the attitude of the successive generation studying Korean linguistics recently and the changing process of the research environment.
While the Korean linguists regard the language as an analytic object, the public accept it as one of the cultural assets produced from our national culture. the documentary records in which the language dwells are both a important cultural assets and the first medium providing contents. as the tele-communications media develops, the conversation is preferred to the writing. according to the increased interest in culture, the conversation is regarded as one of the important cultures.
Nowadays we are living in the age in which most of the scholars do a computer search for the Korean language and the Korean data everyday. as for the research tendency, they mainly seem to compare and interpretate the data processing and adapting the electronic files to the given circumstances. the scholars is verifying the possibility and the impossibility of change by using the searching programs. it means the revolutionary change in the research environment, the research tendency and the research method.
The Korean linguists have showed a increased interest in the history of the Korean language life, socio-linguistics, semantics, cognitive linguistics, speech pathology, literary language and so forth. It also reflects their changed recognition that they have to deal with the language on the basis of the human environment and life. not a few institutions owning Korean data competitively try to develop the contents by constructing the archive. these efforts are sure to make a contribution to the study and the advance in the Korean linguistics.
Accordingly, we have to provide the successive generation with the relevant information continuously so that they can be adapted easily to the changed environment. At the same time, we also try to introduce the new curriculum and keep up financial support.
