For the last decade, interest in and support for e-learning has increased not just amongst the government and the academia but across the entire society. E-learning has become a new pedagogical paradigm of the new age of knowledge information. E-learning is an education doctrine that focuses on Internet-based learning that maximizes instructor-learner interaction and seeks to provide a distributed, open style of learning. Thus, communication between the instructor and the learner, and amongst the learners themselves as well, are crucial to the performance of e-learning. E-learning consists of contents, connectivity and communication. This study focuses on analyzing the performance of e-learning in educational institutes. We surveyed 100 college students who took e-learning courses, and asked them their attitude towards e-learning, influence of e-learning on their studies, satisfaction with e-learning courses, and whether they were going to take another e-learning course. We found that most students were not enthusiastic towards e-learning. Even those who said they planned on taking more e-learning courses did so not out of satisfaction with their previous experience but rather as a means of utilizing small bits of free time. We believe a restructuring of the e-learning courses or an improvement in the means of delivery is in order.
