The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of d-ROM, BAP, and metabolic variables with acute isokinetic maximum strength and muscular endurance protocols. 12 male university students majoring in physical education participated in this study. In a crossover design, two isokinetic protocols were assessed with the subjects once a week during two weeks, and levels of d-ROM, BAP, glucose, neutral fat, and lactic acid were measured with blood samples every time. Blood samples were taken before, immediately after, and 30 minutes after the measurements. The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA with repeated measures. Results are as follows. First, the level of blood d-ROM with isokinetic muscular endurance protocol is higher than that with isokinetic strength protocol all the time, and antioxidant capacity has a significant difference between measuring stages with all two protocols(respectively p<.05). Second, the concentration of glucose with isokinetic muscular endurance protocol is higher than that with isokinetic strength protocol all the time, and all two protocols have significant differences between measuring stages. The concentration of TG(Triglyceride) with isokinetic muscular endurance protocol is higher than that with isokinetic strength protocol(p<.05). In addition, the level of lactate with different angular velocity is higher in order of before. 30 minutes after, and immediately after the measurements in all two protocols. According to the result of this study, acute isokinetic muscular endurance protocol may increase the level of d-ROM, glucose, and neutral fat. This result provides preliminary data about relations between d-ROM, antioxidant capacity and isokinetic exercise which is widely used for sports training and rehabilitation setting.
