The purpose of this study was to analyze range of motion and isokinetic muscle functions in older female after 12 weeks core exercise. The subjects of this study were 21 elder females participated in this study and were classified to core exercise group(n=11) and control group(n=10). Core exercise was composed to pilates and elastic band exercise. They were scheduled to work out 70 minutes a day, 3 times per week for 12 weeks. The joint angle of subjects were estimated by inclinometer and isokinetic muscle functions were measured by Biodex system 3. The data were analyzed among group Two-Way ANOVA with repeated measured. The results were as follows: 1) the angle of motion were significantly in the trunk flexion(p<.05), right abduction(p<.001), and left abduction of trunk(p<.05). Also, flexion of left upper limb, extension of left upper limb extension of left hip, flexion of left hip and plantar flexion of right ankle were statistically significant differences(p<.05). 2) Isokinetic muscle functions were significantly in extension of right leg, and flexion of right leg(p<.05) after the core exercise programs. The core exercise programs through the pilates and elastic band exercises can effect to improve range of motion of the joints and isokinetic muscle strength of the lower limbs.
