This article overviewed research tendency of 12 fields of Asian history including Chinese ancient history from 2000 to 2011. When China began Northeast Project that embodies history of Goguryeo into Chinese history in 2002, Korean historians raised their voices in criticism. With the establishment of Northeast Asian History Foundation, such critical opinion became systematized and critical researches came to be even more active. Korea’s study of Chinese history forms an enormous tide known as Korea-China relation history study. Meanwhile, in Japan, history textbook that glorifies colonial control by Japan and justifies their invasion to Korea was published, and this in turn caused Korean historians to strengthen their criticism on Japanese history textbook. Here, Korean researchers of Japanese history actively participated in the study of history of Korea-Japan relations. History study of Southeast Asia, India, Central Asia, West Asia weren’t active as there were too few researchers and research condition was poor.
During 2012~2013, history of Korea-China relation and history of Korea-Japan relation were continuously studied. Only, the method and the research perspective had certain changes. They were tried to be analyzed in the viewpoint of world history, or were tried to be established in the frame of East Asia. Moreover, various researches arose in the fields which weren’t studied traditionally: social history, women’s history, environmental history and medical history. It can be said that new research direction has been found in the end.
During 2012~2013, history of Korea-China relation and history of Korea-Japan relation were continuously studied. Only, the method and the research perspective had certain changes. They were tried to be analyzed in the viewpoint of world history, or were tried to be established in the frame of East Asia. Moreover, various researches arose in the fields which weren’t studied traditionally: social history, women’s history, environmental history and medical history. It can be said that new research direction has been found in the end.
