Bruce Lincoln considered myths as "an ideology in narrative form". His perspective of myth is a reformed version through a process concerning the kings and philosophers. However, it is hard to alter the original myths based solely on the authority of such. If the myth is an ideological narrative, it does not only operate in relation to the authorities, but will be also applicable to gender. There are several existing research on the ideological modification process of goddesses in the Central Plains(中原), such as Nuwa(女?). Yet, the modification process of the goddess from the ethnic minorities in Southwestern China has not been sufficiently performed.
This research examines the modification of the creation goddess’ divinity based on scripts and the scripture system. It focuses particularly on the creation goddesses of the Yunnan Province(雲南) region in Southwestern China. Furthermore, this research will attempt to restore ‘The Road of Goddess’ of East Asia through the remaining trace of other creation goddesses still holding the original features and shapes.
