The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of middle school students on health education and the state of health education in an effort to determine problems with that education. It’s ultimately meant to seek ways of revitalizing school health education in order to ensure the protection of students’ right to health.
The subjects in this study were 997 selected students in eight different middle schools located in Gyeonggi Province.
A self-administered survey was conducted after questionnaires were handed out by this researcher.
The collected data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. Statistical data on frequency and percentage were obtained, and chi-square test was carried out. The data were analyzed at the p<.05 level of significance.
The findings of the study were as follows:
First, it’s urgently’ required to secure professional health teachers and to provide systematic health instruction.
Second, the effect of instruction should be maximized by offering more professional and intriguing health instruction.
Third, two-way communicative instruction was more effective than one-sided knowledge conveyance in the area of health.
