This study compared the relationship and differences of isokinetic peak torque, flexibility and balance of women in their 80s and 20s. Subjects were divided into 2 groups : 80s aged(n=26, 81.24±0.43 yrs) and 20s aged(n=23, 22.02±0.41 yrs) women group. The result showed 80s aged women group, compared to 20s aged women group, significantly decreased on all the items: 60o/sec isokinetic peak torque %BW, [extensor: right 46.6%, left 47.1%(p<.001), flexor: right 53.3%, left 59.7%(p<.001)]. 180o/sec isokinetic peak torque %BW, [extensor: right 41.8%, left 40.7%(p<.001), flexor: right 51.6%, left 57.9%(p<.001)], and balance 92.5% (p<.01). However, flexibility showed that 80s aged women group decreased 15.5% than 20s aged women group, but there was no significant difference between two groups. As for Pearson correlation coefficients for relation between isokinetic strength and flexibility or balance, both groups showed no significant correlation between flexibility and isokinetic strength. Meanwhile, 80s aged women group showed a positive correlation(p<.05), but 20s aged women group showed no significant correlation between balance and isokinetic strength. In this study, the 80s aged women showed significant decrease in strength and balance in comparison to 20s aged women. But flexibility showed no significant difference between two groups.
