The purpose of this study is to examine factors that affect elderly people’s subjective quality of life. To achieve the research goal, data from 27,635 people over the age of 60 was used. Frequent analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, and multiple regression analysis were carried out to investigate the data. In the analysis results, variables including education level, health condition, financial status, relationship with spouse, relationship with children, travel, and cultural activities were proven to have a significant effect on elderly people’s subjective quality of life. One of key findings is that elderly people in Korea are experiencing diverse cultural activities in senior welfare centers. However, many fail to make use of the facilities because they are too far from where they live. From this, installation of more senior welfare centers or operation of free shuttle bus from the center is necessary. Based on the results, the paper proposed practical and political implications that can improve elderly people’s subjective quality of life. Even though this study has its value as it analyzed variables that affect elderly people’s subjective quality of life, this study has the following limitation. There are diverse variables related to mental health that can affect elderly people’s subjective quality of life. Future studies are necessary that incorporate mental health-related variables.
