Background/Aims
¬ Ovarian cancer is the 5th most common type of cancer in women and the 4th most common cause of cancer death in women
¬ Most of the cases diagnosed at a advanced stage (III/IV)
¬ In the vast majority of patients, epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC, which includes fallopian tube and perito-neal cancers)has unique pattern of spread and is confined to the peritoneal cavity at initial diagnosis and also in recurrence.
AIM –
To show techniques of cytoreductive surgeries for peritoneal carcinomatosis including anterior parital peri-tonectomy, left upper quadrant peritonectomy, right upper quadrant peritonectomy, pelvic peritonectom, omental bursectomy, visceral peritonectomy, mesenteric stripping and resection, Glisson capsulectomy, clearance of pontis hepaticus and use of argon plasma.
