The purpose of the study is to develop a new method for English learning with the use of ChatGPT for video-making projects. All participants were 20 undergraduate students taking an EFL course held during the fall semester of 2023. Throughout the project, the students produced videos by completing three tasks: Preparation, Production, and Presentation. ChatGPT was used as a way to complete the tasks for learning vocabulary, phrases, and expressions related to video topics. The main data of the study were gathered through surveys to investigate students’ perspectives on learning English with ChatGPT. The questionnaire was developed based on the previous research. Major findings are as follows: First, the students showed a stable interest in language and culture. However, a shift was found in their learning priorities towards speaking, listening, and vocabulary. Interestingly, there was a consistent view of grammar as less important. The findings highlight the varied applications of ChatGPT in language learning regarding vocabulary, expressions, translation, pronunciation, spelling, grammar, and specific information. Despite certain limitations, this study provides insights into EFL learning by pinpointing more precise applications of ChatGPT in educational settings. ChatGPT offers interactive and effective learning experiences, facilitating a natural and engaging way to study English.
