To revitalize public sports facilities through the characteristics of local governments and coexistence between the public and private sectors, this study collected data from five public sports facilities and private sports facilities in southern Gyeonggi Province and concluded through in-depth interviews with managers. First, public sports facilities are operated with facilities and budgets in proportion to the number of populations of local governments. Second, management and operation are operated universally rather than characteristically in the public domain. Third, it was confirmed that the management structure is an administrative system, and the expertise of workers suitable for the purpose of the facility is insufficient. Therefore, this study expects to play a role as a healthy welfare facility through discussions on changing the supply of public sports facilities, establishing diversity in use, establishing a user-centered operating system, and establishing a cooperative system with the private sector.
