The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between positive psychological capital, social support and major commitment of university students majoring in culinary arts. For this purpose, the data was collected through a questionnaire survey from three hundred and twenty-four students who are majoring in culinary arts in university in Daejeon and Namhae, South Korea. The data was analyzed by using reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested by structural equation modeling (SEM). The structural model provided an adequate fit to the data, x2=405.208 (p<.001), df=313, GFI=.917, AGFI=.899, CFI=.978, RMSEA=.030. An analysis of the relationship between positive psychological capital and major commitment showed that positive psychological capital have a positive influence on social support (t=.6.882, p<.001) major commitment (t=4.291, p<.001). Also, social support had a positive influence on major commitment (t=3.384, p<.001). The findings of this study provided fundamental data for career counseling for culinary students. Several theoretical implications and limitations were also discussed.
