This research was conducted to confirm the effects of an 8-week kettlebell training program on the physical fitness and anaerobic power related to the performance of adolescent female volleyball players residing in G City and registered as athletes with the Korea Volleyball Association. A single-group pre-test and post-test design was applied to 12 adolescent female volleyball players, and the following conclusions were drawn after the 8-week kettlebell training program:
First, significant differences were observed in muscular endurance, agility, and flexibility among the factors related to the athletes" game performance-related physical fitness. Improvement in these factors was confirmed after factor-specific training.
Second, significant differences were found in fatigue index, average power (AP), peak power (PP), and peak power per kilogram of body weight (PP/kg) among the factors related to the athletes" anaerobic power. Improvement in these factors was also confirmed after factor-specific training.
In conclusion, the 8-week kettlebell training program demonstrated positive effects on the game performance-related physical fitness and anaerobic power of adolescent female volleyball players. Therefore, it was confirmed that the incorporation of kettlebell training into the physical training program for adolescent female volleyball players is feasible and beneficial.
