Tai Chi exercise is a traditional Chinese exercise which has its roots in the martial arts; yet for centuries, millions of Chinese have practiced its flowing, meditative movements to promote and retain health. It is well known that is beneficial for health and fitness. To determine whether tai chi improves glucose, TC, TG, waist power, grip power, flexibility, endurance, agility, and balance. We evaluated the effect of 12 week Tai Chi exercise on blood variables and Physical fitness in middle aged woman. Twenty women were recruited from the public health center. They were divided into obesity(n=10) group and control(n=10) group. Two groups were participated in 12 weeks(3 times/week) of Tai Chi exercise program. Data were analyzed with Two-way ANOVA by repeated measure. The results were as followed. Blood variables(glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride) and Physical fitness(grip power, waist power, flexibility, muscle endurance, agility, balance) were improved pre and post Tai Chi exercise program in both groups. Also, physical fitness factors(grip power, waist power, balance) were significant improvement in both groups. but, endurance was significantly increased in control group than in Obesity group. In conclusions, 12 weeks Tai Chi exercise program may help to improve blood variables and physical fitness levels positively.
